Sentera Debuts NDVI Sensor For DJI Phantom 4

Sentera announces availability of the Sentera NDVI Single sensor for the DJI Phantom 4 drone.

The normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) single adds an ultra-lightweight, high-precision NDVI sensor to the Phantom 4, creating a powerful and affordable precision agriculture tool. As with Sentera’s DJI Phantom 3 and Inspire NDVI products, the factory-supplied gimbaled camera is not modified, preserving the full functionality of the outstanding stock DJI sensor. With the Single Sensor, users can capture visual-band, near-infrared, and NDVI data simultaneously – in a single flight.

“We are thrilled to offer the Phantom 4 NDVI Upgrade in time for the 2016 growing season,” said Kris Poulson, vice president of agriculture for Sentera. “Our customers have had tremendous results using our proven Phantom 3 and Inspire NDVI Upgrade products. Adding Phantom 4 support ensures that every customer has access to an affordable NDVI solution.”

The Sentera Single Sensor features a high-sensitivity global shutter imager and low-distortion optics for crisp, clear aerial data collection. The Single Sensor seamlessly integrates with Sentera’s AgVault Software, allowing growers to easily leverage crop health imagery at the field edge.

Existing Phantom 4 drones can be sent directly to Sentera or a Sentera-authorized reseller for modification. Alternatively, growers wishing to obtain a new Phantom 4 drone with NDVI capabilities may purchase an integrated system directly through Sentera or its resellers.
