Topcon’s System 210 Aids Land, Water Management

Topcon Precision Agriculture’s new System 210 land-forming and water management system incorporates and supports three important segments of modern farming operations; topographic surveying, design execution, and land leveling without leaving the tractor cab.

System 210 uses Topcon’s Agriculture GPS+ System (AGS) technology that is a time-tested control system that operates on the X20 multi-function, touch-screen controller, according to Kevin Cobb, director of agriculture product management.

“With the new System 210, an operator can gather field surveys in minutes right from the cab, Cobb said, or let Topcon’s AGForm-3D survey and design software calculate best-fit slopes and reduce yardage.”

System 210 features include dual-constellation GPS plus GLONASS satellite reception, for maximum accuracy and 24/7 operating capabilities. It operates in conjunction with AGForm-3D land-leveling, surveying and field design software to aid in solving surface drainage problems and improving irrigation efficiency.

The software allows operators to break fields into multiple sections to reduce yardage, shorten hauls and minimize topsoil cuts.

The system includes the MC-R3 controller, HiPer AG mobile RTK base station and PG-A1 antenna and is available in either single or dual-scraper configurations. The MC-R3 features a special built-in panel that provides status lights and function keys for easy performance verification and system checks, Cobb said. The unit also includes multiple data ports, robust processing capabilities, and additional valve drivers, which allows for increased machine control capabilities.

The HiPer AG mobile base station provides GNSS corrections for high-accuracy Z-axis positioning for land leveling. The one-piece, cable free unit incorporates a receiver, radio, antennas, and rechargeable battery.

Dual-constellation antenna options include the PG-A1 with integrated ground plane and micro-center technology which reduces multipath errors or the CR-G3 dome with internal choke ring for high performance in more demanding environments.
