John Deere 1910 Air Carts Can Now Be Retrofitted with Section Control

Intelligent Agricultural Solutions, LLC (Intelligent Ag), a leader in electronics innovations for modern farming, has released Engage Zone Control, the industry’s first retrofit section control available for John Deere air carts.

Custom designed and built for the popular John Deere 1910 model air cart, it is easily installed underneath the meter housing.

Engage Zone Control integrates with the existing GPS mapping system to identify areas of potential overlap, and uses electric motors to actuate slide gates that shut off up to eight sections per tank (up to three tanks per cart). The product release of Engage Zone Control presents the first time that retrofit section control has been available to older-model air carts. The benefit to farmers is they now have an affordable way to add yield-boosting, input-reducing precision seeding capabilities to existing John Deere 1910 air carts.

While the air seeding industry started seeing section control technology on new machines around 2014, the only way to obtain it was by purchasing a new air cart. Intelligent Ag set out to develop an affordable after-market solution for growers who wanted to get more out of their existing air carts.
