Farmers Edge, Topcon Sign SGIS Licensing Agreement

Topcon Precision Agriculture (TPA) has signed a global licensing agreement with Farmers Edge, a provider of farm management and precision agronomy services. This agreement is focused around the integration of Topcon’s SGIS agronomic desktop software into the Farmers Edge web-based precision farm management platform, Precision Edge.

Precision Edge is a system that enables food companies, input retailers, agronomists and farmers to easily manage field centric data, variable rate technology, remote sensing, crop surveillance and field information.

SGIS has been serving the needs of agriculture retailers and customers since 1993. This program enables and simplifies variable rate applications for agronomists and custom applicators. It continues to be recognized as a leading tool for the layering of farm data, equation development and output of variable rate prescriptions.

“The integration of SGIS into Precision Edge will allow Farmers Edge to better service our clients by adding several important components such as yield analysis and a more robust layering tool for farm data.  We believe this agreement will allow Precision Edge to become one of the leading precision agriculture tools in the market,” said Wade Barnes, president and CEO of Farmers Edge.
