Japan: G-20 Calls for Use of AI, Robots in Agriculture

Agriculture ministers of the Group of 20 major economies Sunday adopted a statement that calls for promoting the use of artificial intelligence systems and robots in agriculture, according to an article on Nippon.com. “We’ve confirmed the importance of sharing knowledge for the future of agriculture,” Japanese agriculture minister Takamori Yoshikawa told a news conference after the two-day ministerial meeting in the central Japan city of Niigata from Saturday.

The statement said it is essential to create environments that make it easier for agricultural workers to acquire knowledge and skills so that they can utilize advanced technologies.
