India Mulls Agricloud to Track Growing Cycle From Input to Sale

Goa Agriculture Minister Vijai Sardesai discussed the idea of developing an Agricloud, a digital platform for the management of the state’s agriculture activities. The interface would enable the government to register farmers and keep track of all subsidies and inputs, and also provide data to help farmers make informed agronomic decisions, The Times of India reports.

“If my idea of setting up 500 organic clusters in Goa by this year actually works, we can have an Agricloud. We are in the process of finalizing the tender for Agricloud,” Sardesai said Monday at the national conference of All India Agricultural Marketing Board Federation.

The Agricloud could also facilitate an e-commerce platform to allow farmers to sell their produce directly to buyers.
