CropMetrics, a leader in smart irrigation services in the U.S., and developer of the Virtual Optimizer software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, has announced the appointment of Lee Addams as its Chief Executive Officer.
Addams, a current Board Member for CropMetrics, will assume the CEO role from CropMetrics founder and current CEO Nick Emanuel. Emanuel will continue as Chief Technology Officer for the company and will focus on development of the CropMetrics technology and grower services platform.
“I am proud of our team for building a foundation of success with CropMetrics that has now led into a new chapter of growth,” said Emanuel. “We are excited to bring Lee’s industry experience and leadership to CropMetrics to accelerate our growth and development of services that ultimately focus on grower value.”
Addams comes to CropMetrics with an extensive background with companies solving productivity challenges in water and agriculture. Previously, Addams was in leadership roles at Valmont Industries, HighQuest Partners, Good Earth Irrigation and McKinsey & Company. He holds a Ph.D in Geological and Environmental Sciences from Stanford University, and a B.Sc. in Applied Physics from Brigham Young University.
“I am thrilled to be joining CropMetrics at such an exciting time for the company,” said Addams. “Nick and the CropMetrics team have built an exceptionally strong presence in the field, and the company is well-positioned to continue to work with other partners to bring best-in-class irrigation optimization to farmers. There is a great need to increase the ‘crop-per-drop’ in agriculture, and with the technological suite of CropMetrics solutions combined with an active network of CropMetrics Precision Data Specialists on the ground, the company is poised for significant growth in 2018 and beyond.”
