Shearer To Return To Ohio State

Pending approval of the University Board of Trustees, Dr. Scott Shearer has been chosen to chair The Ohio State University’s Department of Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering. His appointment would begin July 1.

Shearer would be returning to his alma mater, where he earned his bachelor’s of science in 1981, master’s of science in 1983, and Ph.D. in 1986. He returns after serving several roles at the University of Kentucky since 1986 in the Department of Agricultural Engineering at the University of Kentucky. He currently serves as a professor and chair of the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering.

Dr. Shearer is nationally known and respected for his research and education efforts, earning him a PrecisionAg Award of Excellence in 2007.
