Precision Passion: Remembering Mark Hansen

A graduate of the University of Minnesota majoring in Animal Science and Agronomy, Hansen began his career on the retail side of the business, and gained experience with technology and the power of data management through several managerial positions. It eventually led him to founding FarmRX, which handled all technological aspects of the farming community.

Hansen was also employed by Ag-Chem as a supervisor of technical services and trainer in technology software. At AGCO, he was a regional specialist in technology, supporting sales, service and marketing. Last June, he was named product marketing manager for AGCO Global Technologies North America.

Mike Gomes, product manager for Topcon Sauer-Danfoss, worked closely with Mark and was inspired by his “lifelong commitment to excellence, and passion for serving people who are in the business of feeding and clothing our world.

“Mark was committed to making life in the equipment cab easier, more rewarding and more productive for people who were both customers and friends,” continues Gomes. “While at AGCO corporate, he was a champion of farmers and equipment operators and strove to make their world less complicated and more profitable, primarily through the adoption of the technologies of precision agriculture. While we continue to remember his passion and the lessons he taught us we will miss his contributions, and accept the responsibility to forward the tenets he championed, while working with us.”

Mark is survived by his wife Teresa, his parents Larry and Jan Hansen, brothers Paul and Steve, and step-son Lincoln.
