dataTHRESH, Inc., the developer of an independent platform of precision ag data tools for farmers, announces its You “OWN IT” farmer data policy at the 2014 Commodity Classic in San Antonio, TX.
The company’s You “OWN IT”™ farmer data policy is a natural reflection of who founded the company, the farmers on the team, and the company’s core purpose: To improve farmer profitability.
“’Who is your farm data working for?’ is an important question that differentiates our company and its data policy from others. On my farm it’s going to be me. That’s why I founded dataTHRESH,” said Mike Coon, dataTHRESH CEO and sixth generation Iowa farmer.
The end game of the data revolution in agriculture is farm data ownership and control. dataTHRESH supports keeping farmers in the driver’s seat of farm data ownership and control. The company believes independent farmers need an independent alternative.
In parallel with developing an independent platform of precision ag data tools engineered to help improve farmer profitability, the company is proactively reaching out to farmers to learn what they see as a fair and beneficial farm data policy for precision ag.
“We are receiving a very positive response from farmers. In particular they appreciate our approach of asking (not telling) them what they really need to help improve their farm profitability. And we are listening closely to what they believe is a good data policy,” concluded Mike Coon.
dataTHRESH is actively seeking more input from corn and soybean growers to help build independent data tools for independent farmers who believe in owning their own data.
