Data Platforms Conference Delivers Unmatched Learning, Networking

Over the past couple of years, established ag companies and a host of new start-up organizations have rushed to fill agriculture’s growing demand for functional and compatible data management systems.

While powerful and compelling, sorting out and understanding the number and variety of options can be confusing and frustrating. On August 31, some 200 individuals will come together to discuss the current state of data platforms, and the opportunities and challenges to their implementation at “Data Platform Solutions: Putting Knowledge to Work,” at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign, IL.

The event is being hosted by PrecisionAg magazine and its sister publication, CropLife magazine. Executive Editor Paul Schrimpf will preside, with renowned agricuture consultants serving as the session moderators: Jim Budzynski of Macrogain Partners, and Lisa Prassack of Prassack Advisors.

“The Internet of Things and Big Data are creating a perfect storm of innovation and opportunity for agriculture,” explains Prassack. “Hardware, software, sensors, and physical things are coming together in uncharted waters. Agriculture offers the most complex industry environment to solve for outcomes. We need to take a smart systems approach to achieve the promise of data on the farm.”

Prassack has visited and had discussions with scores of farm operations in recent months, and says there is no doubt toat farmers are demanding integrated solutions that close the loop on data to make decisions. “During this session, attendees will hear from farmers on what is working in their fields and how they got to these solutions to manage throughout the crop cycle and especially in making decisions during the growing season.”

Additionally, a host of leading organizations, from input manufacturers to retailers to softward companies will share their perspectives on where data platforms are headed in the longer term.

Who Should Attend?

The day-long conference is designed to provide educational and networking opportunities for every level of agriculture, and in particular the categories below:

Equipment OEM and Input Manufacturers

To succeed, industry players will need to build teams that cross disciplines in ways never before attempted in many industries. Envision new business models and creating ecosystems and partnerships that solve the farm problems. At this meeting you will:

  • Walk outside of your current structures and learn how to link in to evolving and emerging solutions in imagery, irrigation, as applied and whole farm management.
  • Come learn about solutions that are working today and where to catch the next wave.

Ag Retailers and Cooperatives

Bridging the knowledge gap between input manufacturers, specialty equipment and services to the farm – ag retailers and cooperatives have the opportunity to bring value services to their farm customers that deliver results. Farmers expect thought leadership and knowledgeable deployment based on their farm crops and practices as opposed to a one size fits all solution. Find out what is working and what still needs to be solved to drive success with your farm relationships.

Independent Agronomists and Consultants

As a trusted advisor of the farm, add your voice and ask your questions in the conversation. Talk about the challenges you face in supporting the farm, what is working and what you need next to support your current farm customers and expand your business services to other areas that add value.

Farmers

Farmers will discussions, debate and ask questions of the decision makers in leading agriculture players to understand who and how they plan to support the evolving demands faced by the farm in the advent of so many different technologies and services, along with demands from the food producers you supply.
