Leica Packs Lineup With New Features

Last year at the Ag Connect Expo, Leica Geosystems expanded its lineup of products to provide guidance solutions for a wider range of user needs and budgets. This year, Leica has announced a number of significant improvements to each system it manufactures.

SteerDirect
The new SteerDirect Hydraulic system is a compact, integrated solution that connects the Leica mojoRTK console to the vehicle’s steering system via a simple, single-bracket hydraulic kit. This unique system was designed with a number of cost-saving features, including a simplified design for easier installation.

The SteerDirect SRK (steer-ready kit) is designed to retrofit tractors with existing electro-hydraulic components. The SRK controller translates CAN messages from the Leica mojoRTK console into electric signals to drive the equipment via electro-hydraulic sensors.

The Leica mojoRTK console can also be connected directly to the tractor’s CANbus system on some tractors for a simple and accurate steering solution that’s both affordable and easy to install. Plus, by connecting directly to the CANbus on the tractor, the mojoRTK communicates directly with existing controllers, valves and sensors already on the tractor.

In addition to these new SteerDirect options, Leica Geosystems also provides the Leica QuickSteer assisted steering motor as a simple retro-fit solution that work seamlessly with both the Leica mojoRTK console and the Leica mojo3D display.

Leica mojo3D Display
The new Leica mojo3D guidance display is designed to help farmers save time and money now and for years to come. The product offers a unique guidance display with a wide range of upgrade options, which can be customized to fit individual needs.

“The new Leica mojo3D display is a versatile and easy-to-use guidance console with a wide range of upgrade options. It is designed so that the system can grow with you and your operation,” says Peter Bailey, product manager for Leica Geosystems.

The Leica mojo3D now includes the new Ultimate Curve guidance option, which works with the four standard guidance patterns — AB Parallel, A+ Heading, Fixed Contour and Pivot. Ultimate Curve provides guidance along any area already covered. Plus, Leica’s new steer-to-the-line technology allows operators to produce straighter, more even lines with any guidance patterns.

The new Leica mojo3D helps save on input costs with precise section-control features and advanced area calculations. The standard section-control feature uses implement modeling for more advanced input placement. The new Boundary Recording feature allows you to more precisely determine input requirements to save money and reduce waste.

In addition to these features, the Leica mojo3D comes with Leica Geosystems’ Virtual Wrench™ system, so that users can download new software or ask a question at the touch of button while working in the field.

Leica mojoMINI
The Leica mojoMINI kit is designed to be a versatile entry-level guidance system. The combined field guidance kit features a handy street navigation display for use on the road.

“With all these new features, we take the mojoMINI from a nice entry-level system for small farmers, to a more robust and versatile system,” says Bailey. “This kit has a number of components that means this system can be used daily in nearly any operation.”

With several new field guidance features, the mojoMINI is more robust and easier to use.
• The new Boundary Recording feature allows operators to quickly and easily calculate field area to accurately determine input requirements.
• The new Coverage Mapping feature allows operators to see what ground has been covered as they work the field.
• The new Continue Field feature saves current information so operators can return to the job and know where to start and see what’s already been covered.

The Leica mojoMINI kit also includes the Leica GeoSpective smart antenna with GL1DE™ technology for a smooth, accurate pass-to-pass signal with no external corrections or expensive subscriptions. Plus, the smart antenna’s integrated Bluetooth technology allows easy connections to both the mojoMINI display and other handheld PDA devices. Using the optional port expansion cable, the GeoSpective smart antenna can provide GPS connection to a wide range of precision farming equipment, including rate controllers and yield monitors.
