NCGA Releases Next-Gen Refuge Calculator

National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) recently leveraged AgIntegrated’s multi-platform capabilities to develop and maintain NCGA’s next generation Insect Resistance Management (IRM) Refuge Calculator. The web-based solution improves accessibility through a combination of smartphone, desktop, and website platforms.

Today, these efforts were realized with the successful launch of IRM Refuge Calculator v4.0. The revamped calculator, built on a web-based framework, provides the additional convenience of smartphone and desktop web browser accessibility while continuing to offer a desktop application that can be used offline.

The calculator facilitates Grower compliance with EPA’s IRM regulations by calculating the appropriate refuge, quantity of standard seed bags to purchase for both trait and refuge, and possible planting configurations for certain corn products in the United States.

“We are excited to have found a software development group with extensive, real-world agricultural experience,” said Nathan Fields, Director of Biotechnology and Economic Analysis for NCGA. “AgIntegrated’s cross-platform technologies will provide us with the ability to scale and further enhance our software products to meet the needs of our members and the corn industry as a whole.”
