John Deere Adding Equipment Logistics System

The AgLogic system utilizes cellular technology that allows communication between a base office and a ruggedized field computer carried in each piece of equipment. At the office, the AgLogic software allows a dispatcher to build a schedule from electronically entered orders. The day’s schedule is then transferred and available to the application rig operator on the handheld unit.

Each handheld offers turn-by-turn navigation to the operator to the orders on his list. As the operator goes through the day, his activities are recorded and tracked via the cellular link, and information is collected about his work throughout the day. The dispatcher can watch the activities of all the equipment in the fleet using a Web-based map program, and make real time changes to work orders that are communicated directly to the operator’s handheld. The stored data also can be used later to help improve efficiency for future routing.

AgLogic works seamlessly with Deere’s AgroGuide order entering system, and is compatible with many software programs featuring work order entry and coordination. With the use of a separate ruggedized field computer and Web based mapping, the program can be used with any make or model of machine. The product will be available through John Deere dealers.
