Farm Works Adds Ruggedized Handheld

PrecisionAg eNews – Farm Works Software recently introduced the new rugged handheld PC, known as Titan RH, which uses the latest software technology for field applications including mapping, soil sampling, field scouting, variable rate and more.

The Titan RH is designed to take on the harsh environment yet small enough to fit in your hand. It features a 3.5-inch daylight readable touch screen that is impact resistant. An impact resistant screen protects your device from those moments of accidental drops that leads to down time and lost data. It also can be used in all types of weather; from rain and snow to extreme cold and heat. One of the key features of this device is the built-in GPS. This prevents you from using additional cables or attaching other GPS receivers for those quick sampling or mapping jobs.

Packaged with an external antenna, the Titan RH can be used for in-cab applications too. It has an optional data cable that includes three standard DB9 serial ports. The three serial ports make it possible to attach other GPS receivers (for better accuracy), a variable rate controller, or other sensory devices. Windows CE as well as other software applications is preloaded on the Titan RH for viewing other documents such as spreadsheets or PDF files. A USB data cable is packaged with the unit for simple synchronization of data with your desktop computer. This same cable provides an AC wall charger so your batteries are always charged for the next job.

Suggested retail is $1700 for the Titan RH. It is packaged with all cables, ram mount, rechargeable battery, and the external antenna. The Site Mate software is sold separately.
