The recipients of the 2007 PrecisionAg Award of Excellence are (alphabetized by last name):

Dr. Arthur F. Lange – A leader in the creation and development of the Trimble Agriculture Division, which has helped make precision agriculture practical and affordable for many.

Dr. Scott A. ShearerDepartment of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at the University of Kentucky.

Norm Teegardin – Founder and CEO of Farm Works Software Co. and Farm Works Journal.

The winners were chosen for demonstrated leadership in precision agriculture adoption, education of employees and customers, and responsible and innovative use of precision agriculture technology.

Farm supply retailers, growers, and other industry professionals were given the opportunity to complete nomination packets. Nominations were reviewed by a selection panel established by The PrecisionAg Institute Founding Partners and members of the CropLife Media Group, which manages the Institute.

Members of the selection panel included: Jess Lowenburg-DeBoer, Professor in the Department of Ag Economics and Interim Associate Dean and Director of International Programs in Agriculture at Purdue University; Nathan Watermeier, Program Director, Geospatial Extension Specialist at The Ohio State University; Harold Reetz, President of the Foundation of Agronomic Research; and Fran Pierce, Director, Center for Precision Agricultural Systems Washington State University Irrigated Agriculture Research & Extension Center.

“It’s our honor and privilege to recognize those who work every day to stay ahead of the game and make a difference in our field. These inductees will serve as examples of excellence for agriculture,” said Paul Schrimpf, group editor of the CropLife Media Group and manager of the PrecisionAg Institute.

The honorees will be recognized during a special ceremony at the annual InfoAg Conference. Those inducted will be recognized in the pages of the PrecisionAg Buyer’s Guide on this website.
