Quentin Rund Wins 2009 Crop Adviser / Entrepreneur Award For Precision Ag Excellence

Quentin Rund of PAQ Interactive has been named the 2009 Crop Adviser/Entrepreneur Award winner for Precision Ag Excellence. The awards program is sponsored by the PrecisionAg Alliance.

The Crop Adviser/Entrepreneur Award recognizes an individual or team who have established a demonstrable expertise in precision technologies and practices by devising a new tool/concept/procedure, or who have used their expertise to the benefit of their grower-customers. It also recognizes individuals in a position directly advising farmers, such as crop advisers, consultants, retailers, government advisers or local Extension, or an entrepreneur working in developing new technologies or methods for use by farmers.

Rund was one four enthusiastic precision agriculture luminaries who were honored in front of hundreds of attendees at the InfoAg Conference in July for their superior work in the field of ag technology.

“We need to train more people coming into agriculture,” Rund said. “I do a lot of work with the community colleges, working with those kids and those schools. They are excited about technology — they see some of the things that can be done think that they are pretty cool. So if we can spend some time with them, and get industry involved with the education of students coming through those colleges, I think that will be another thing that will help industry overall.”
