Crop Adviser/Entrepreneur Of The Year

This award is to recognize an individual or team who have established a demonstrable expertise in precision technologies and practices by devising a new tool/concept/procedure, or who have used their expertise to the benefit of their grower-customers. This award recognizes individuals in a position directly advising farmers, such as crop advisers, consultants, retailers, government advisers or local Extension, or an entrepreneur working in developing new technologies or methods for use by farmers. It is inclusive of those working with row crop farmers, greenhouse managers, nursery, vegetables, fruits, vineyards, and nuts. The award is inclusive of all farming enterprises. Nominations should clearly demonstrate four important qualities of the nominee for this award: innovation, leadership/professionalism, stewardship, and overall impact on precision farming.

I would like to nominate CVA’s Precision AG Team. Glen Franzluebbers is my Precision Ag Director. We then operate out of 4 Regions in which we have an ACS Lead that services approximately 6 locations each. We currently service 23 agronomy locations with Precision AG Services. Our Program is trade marked Advanced Cropping Systems (ACS) Currently we generate $1.3 Million in Precision AG Services. CVA has approximately 450,000 acres of 2.5 acre grids, We sell and service yield monitors, guidance systems, auto steer and other technology equipment. This spring we are looking at setting up and servicing 24 to 30 variable rate planters for corn. We Variable apply dry fertilizer and lime. We are experminting with Variable Rate liquid fertilizer mainly nitrogen. We believe that Technology will keep CVA a leader in the industry and keeps our customers profitable long term. CVA is very committed to Precision Ag and see it as a key success factor for our company.
