AgDNA Launches Profit Spatial Analysis Tool

This week AgDNA has launched a product it says has the ability to analyze profit spatially throughout a field. The new tool is called Pixel Profit and it’s designed to automatically analyze a grower’s operation and show the profit or loss on every acre.

Although financial software tools for crop producers have been around decades, Pixel Profit is different because it uses the actual data generated by in-field machinery to automate the financial analysis. The system combines every farm expense including seed, chemical and fertilizer purchases as well as overhead, machinery and labor costs. These are uploaded to the cloud where AgDNA’s spatial data processing engine is able to automatically calculate precise income and expenses and calculate profitability on every acre.

By visually breaking down a field into profitability zones, growers are able to easily determine which regions are performing well and which need attention.
The system is able to assist with ‘what if’ scenarios and real-time decision-making throughout the season to ensure regions of marginal profitability are not overcapitalized.

AgDNA co-founder and CEO, Paul Turner, believes this is game changing technology for how crop producers view their operation. “Growers are already excited when they see how AgDNA is able to add value to their existing seeding, application and yield data throughout the season. Pixel Profit takes this to the next level with per acre profitability and actionable insights that were previously unimaginable.” said Turner.

AgDNA has been working with major equipment manufacturers and other third party vendors for a number of years to wirelessly move data from the field to the grower’s desktop or smartphone.

AgDNA’s total farm management philosophy and cloud-based precision data processing allows the company to provide high value actionable insights using the grower’s existing precision farming equipment.

Russell Cauthen, AgDNA Key Account Manager for the southern region of the United States, has been working with dealers and growers across the mid-south to help develop and implement Pixel Profit’s revolutionary approach to farm financials. He believes the response from growers is an indication that Pixel Profit will soon become the must-have-tool in every grower’s precision farming toolkit.

“Our actionable insights give farmers answers to questions they never knew they needed to ask. Pixel Profit analyzes all the factors that affect every square foot of a field during the season and converts it into a visual map”, Cauthen said.

Beyond accurate financial reporting, Cauthen says that growers are generating additional savings and boosting net profit with Pixel Profit across all aspects of their operation including land rent negotiations.“Negotiable rent structures are dependent on field productivity factors and local farmers feel like they’re in a better position to renegotiate lease agreements that reflect the field’s true performance”, Cauthen continued.

Available as part of AgDNA’s Precision software platform, Pixel Profit is sold on a per acre basis through its authorized dealer network in 35 states for less than the price of a bushel of corn.

“The response from farmers regarding AgDNA’s Precision software has been incredible”, Cauthen continued. “Using Pixel Profit and AgDNA’s automated equipment integration we’ve been able to see significant improvements in the profitability of growers and an increase in the accuracy of their financial records”.

Pixel Profit is available now as part of AgDNA’s Precision software platform. By integrating with in-field equipment, AgDNA combines financial data with powerful insights pulled straight from machines in real-time to automate all aspects of managing farm data and maximizing profitability on every acre.
