The PrecisionAg Institute turns its attention to corn production with an entirely new research project aimed at answering a number of questions about the usability and profitability of the many technologies being utilized by corn growers today.

PERSPECTIVE Last year the PrecisionAg Institute, with support from the American Soybean Association, led a research effort that shed light on the profit and efficiency benefits of precision agriculture for soybean growers. The research was highlighted the Winter 2012 edition of PrecisionAg Special Reports.
This winter, the Institute turns its attention to corn production with an entirely new research project aimed at answering a number of questions about the usability and profitability of the many technologies being utilized by corn growers today.
I'm looking forward to working with our partner, Millennium Research, to construct the survey and bring some clarity to the precision experience of U.S. corn growers. Along with the usual suspects, from variable-rate fertilizer to yield monitor data and controlled traffic farming with high-accuracy GPS, I'd like to know how growers feel about emerging technologies like sensor-based N application.
We expect to have results that will be released in a limited form by the time the 2013 InfoAg Conference comes around in July. We'll keep you posted on progress via PrecisionAg eNews.
