A recent article describes the embattled wireless Internet initiative's strategy to keep its hopes alive.

December 19, 2012

Dee Ann Divis, assistant managing editor - news at Inside GNSS magazine has, over the past month, put together an outstanding article which provides insight into how LightSquared is keeping its hopes alive for delivering wireless internet to rural America.

Between 2011 and 2012, Lightsquared had battled with GPS manufacturers to broadcast its Internet service in a bandwidth that was close enough to GPS to create interference, which eventually drove Lightsquared into bankruptcy protection. However, that's not quite the end of the story.

The story features a summary of current Lightsquared strategy, discussion in the Beltway, and a peek at some of the early FCC documention on Lightsquared.
