Update From The Upcoming International Conference on Precision Agriculture

The 9th International Conference on Precision Agriculture (ICPA) will be held at the Hyatt Regency Tech Center in Denver, Colorado from July 20–23, 2008. This academic conference brings together researchers, educators, precision practitioners and experts to share the lastest research and technologies in precisin agriculture. Abstract Review and Acceptance is Complete
Dear International Precision Agriculture community, I am pleased to inform you that all the abstracts have now been reviewed. If you submitted an abstract, you should have received an email from ICPA regarding the status of your abstract. If you have NOT received an email in response to your abstract submission, please contact us immediately.
It is now time to work on the full length paper for the proceedings. The instructions for authors are available online at our website www.icpaonline.org. Papers are due on or before April 15th, 2008. Please submit your paper in a timely manner. You must adhere to the paper format described in the Instructions to Authors on the website. The only acceptable file format is MS Word. PDF files are NOT acceptable. Our plan is to have CD-ROM proceedings of the conference available to all participants at the registration desk during the conference.

Invitation Letters for International Participants
As a presenter (oral or poster paper) should you require an “official invitation letter” from ICPA, for the US Embassy visa requirements, please let us know so that we could provide you with an invitation letter to facilitate your participation in the 9th ICPA meetings.

Scholarships for Graduate Students and Awards for Participants
ICPA anticipates offering a few scholarships ($500 each) to graduate students who are presenting their research work at the 9th ICPA conference. In addition, ICPA anticipates offering two awards (young and senior awards, $1000 each) for the participants presenting their work at the conference. More details about the awards will be announced soon (March 2008) on our website www.icpaonline.org. Please stay tuned.

Online Registration
Online registration for the conference is available. Conference fees are as follows:
$495 Full Conference Registration ($595 after June 20, 2008)
$300 One-Day Registration ($360 after June 20, 2008)
$445 Speaker Registration
$290 Student Registration
Full conference registration includes access to all plenary and breakout sessions, exhibit hall, and poster session; Sunday evening reception, lunch on Monday and Tuesday and all breaks; a proceedings CD, conference program, and conference portfolio bag.

Tours
There will be three tours offered for conference attendees, spouses, and guests.
Monday, July 21 - Vail Colorado–Shopping, and Gondola Ride, 9am - 6pm ($60)
Tuesday, July 22 - Rocky Mountain National Park, 8am - 5pm ($85)
Wednesday, July 23 - Air Force Academy, Garden of the Gods, Chuckwagon Dinner, 2pm - 11pm ($60)

Make Hotel Reservations Early
The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center, Denver, Colorado, USA. Please make your reservations early to secure a room at the discounted conference rate. The cutoff date for the conference room block and special rate is 6/20/2008, but rooms may sell out sooner.
