OptiGro Imagery Reemerges as CropAssure

CropAssure Aerial Imagery is now offering imagery products previously provided by the John Deere’s OptiGro.
After John Deere’s exit from the aerial imagery business and the shuttering of its OptiGro program, many in agriculture were left to wonder how remote imagery would continue to progress in the agricultural market. Behind the scenes, new parties have combined forces to bring the service back to ag.

Following its ending of OptiGro, Deere sold the imagery company, GeoVantage, back to its original owners. Now, GeoVantage has partnered with Pinnacle Ag Technologies (PAT) to continue to distribute imagery for the agricultural market across the US. Together they will now market the imagery under the name of: CropAssure Aerial Imagery (www.cropassure.com).

The primary technology will remain the same, and delivery of images will be customized to adapt in each customer’s current program more easily. GeoVantage decided to work through PAT to help provide more agronomic value to the images they acquire. PAT will handle ordering and delivery, and will also provide value-added imagery products for the end user. More information on specific imagery products will be coming soon.

PAT will market the imagery through the ag retailer chain. Imagery has proven to have a positive outlook in the future of agriculture, and with the cooperation of these two companies, they look to bring promise to providing beneficial value of the imagery.
