John Deere Agri Services Adds Analysis Tool

PrecisionAg eNews -  John Deere Agri Services offers a new integrated precision analysis tool for its AgroGuide agronomy management system

John Deere Agri Services has added a new Geographic Information Systems (GIS) precision analysis option to its AgroGuide agronomy management system. The new GIS option is designed to help agronomy professionals create and export variable-rate prescriptions and import geo-referenced soil sample results, as well as existing GIS information.

The tool also allows for as-applied and harvest data to be transferred back into the agronomy system for complete field history and analysis. In addition, precision analysis components powered by software manufacturer MapShots provide an advanced method for merging data from multiple layers for building more complex calculations and performing multi-layer analysis.

“The added GIS functionality saves time in creating agronomic prescriptions and adds greater depth to capabilities with the AGRIS V9 business management system and precision ag field devices," says Ron Leiker, vice president, marketing and sales for John Deere Agri Services.

With the ability to create and export variable-rate prescriptions, the system allows information to flow directly to a field ticket for improved data integrity. Compatible integration with the AGRIS V9 business management system ensures accurate pricing goes from the prescription to the invoice.

The ability to import georeferenced soil sample results improves the accuracy of prescription recommendations and allows more efficient information storage and access, notes Leiker. And importing existing GIS information, agronomy professionals can quickly and easily replicate current information and integrate GIS data with the rest of the business.

Another benefit of the new offering is as-applied data. Automated documentation can be produced either for regulatory compliance or to provide to customers a backup of what was done on the field.

As an additional service to growers, agronomy professionals can use the as-applied data together with recorded harvest information to generate maps which can be used to plan for future application recommendations.
