Hemisphere Enhances Dual Frequency Receiver

Hemisphere GPS recently introduced its enhanced Eclipse dual-frequency GPS receiver. The unit now supports USB communication and enables data logging to standard external USB flash drives.
Eclipse also now utilizes an expanded number of standard real-time kinematic (RTK) message formats, such as RTCM v3, CMR, and CMR+, making the Eclipse receiver compatible with CORS (Continuously Operating Reference Stations) and other RTK base station networks. The Eclipse receiver also includes the updated library from OmniSTAR for improved acquisition time and performance.

"These new enhancements have expanded the capabilities of our already versatile Eclipse receiver," said Steven Koles, Hemisphere GPS President and CEO. "This translates into our customers receiving even greater value from our patented Eclipse technology."

The Eclipse receiver delivers reliable centimeter-level accuracy by reducing code measurement noise and mitigating multipath signals. Depending upon the application, Eclipse users can record and post-process GPS data, and can choose from several differential solutions including RTK, OmniSTAR (HP/XP) and satellite-based augmentation systems (SBAS) such as WAAS, EGNOS, etc.

Eclipse receiver technology includes integrated L-Band tracking that powers down when not in use, multiple serial and USB ports, and upgradeable firmware.

The enhanced Eclipse receiver version will be available in an OEM development kit by the end of September. Hemisphere GPS will also introduce Eclipse-based finished products in the very near future. For more information visit the Hemisphere GPS web site.
