Growers Planting Using GPS

Our reader poll last week indicates that growers are embracing the use of GPS technology on planters next season.

According to our informal PrecisionAg eNews reader poll, nearly two out of three readers plan to use GPS technology for planting their crops in the 2009 season.

This data indicates continued rapid growth in the use of global positioning signals for a variety of field tasks. The increased accuracy of GPS through real-time kinematic GPS systems, the adoption of minimum-till practices, and equipment developments in seed control are leading more growers to trust in and adopt automated seeding technologies.
