Case IH Offers Factory Install of GPS Steering

Case IH recently announced that it is now offering the option of complete factory-installed AFS AccuGuide autoguidance systems on Magnum and Steiger tractors and Axial-Flow combines.

Nate Weinkauf, precision ag marketing manager, cites several advantages to having the Case IH AFS AccuGuide autoguidance system installed at the factory.

“You get the convenience and quality control of having everything set up and tested as your new Case IH tractor or combine is moving down the manufacturing line. In addition, customers can include the autoguidance system as part of their overall finance package, as opposed to buying it separately as a kit and having the dealer install it,” Weinkauf adds. “It’s simpler and less time-consuming to order all your autoguidance components at once, at the same time you’re ordering your new tractor or combine.”

The factory-installed Case IH AFS AccuGuide autoguidance system includes the portable AFS Pro 600 color display, with a fully customizable user interface system; the Navigation Controller II, which is mounted inside the cab and receives data from the user, satellites, correction signals and steering inputs; and the AFS 252 GPS Receiver, a versatile, portable antenna that mounts on the cab roof and receives satellite and land-based DGPS signals.

In addition, growers can choose from four levels of accuracy:
• Basic WAAS correction accurate to within 8” to 10” pass to pass
OmniSTAR XP GPS accurate to within 3” to 5” pass to pass
OmniSTAR HP GPS accurate to within 2” to 4” pass to pass
• Case IH RTK GPS accurate to within 1” repeatable
